Experience Log
November 2020 — Present
Workflow Automation Analyst
Logisolve · Client: 3M Manufacturing
- Dual-certified Savigent Workflow & Engine Developer — one of a small number globally. Solo developer across multiple 3M plants with 125+ workflows, 100+ engine actions, and 40,000+ lines of production C# code running 24/7.
- Built full end-to-end production data automation for a 3-stage continuous manufacturing line (Mixer → Cooker → Wrapper), integrating OPC machine signals with MES order management — cascading order generation, BOM retrieval, inventory consumption, and closeout from a single operator selection.
- Built machine monitoring system tracking real-time status across a dozen plant workcenters, uncovering hundreds of hours of previously invisible downtime and enabling productivity improvements worth over $1M/month.
- Automated workcenter reporting that eliminated 30–45 minutes of daily paperwork per operator while improving plant inventory accuracy.
- Developed HR automation for tracking 30/60/90-day new employee reviews, saving 2 hours per week and eliminating two redundant Excel tracking spreadsheets.
December 2018 — November 2020
Manufacturing Engineering Technician
Surgical Technologies, Inc.
- Dual-role as software developer and manufacturing engineer at a medical device manufacturer operating under ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR — all work subject to formal validation, documented procedures, and audit-ready recordkeeping.
- Built ASP.NET/C#/SQL web application providing management and customer service real-time visibility into work order status across the entire plant floor.
- Developed 12-month labor forecasting model enabling a workforce reduction that saved over $416,000 annually.
- Led Lean initiatives across multiple production lines, improving efficiency up to 50% and generating $1.4M in combined labor savings and productivity gains.
- Led CMMS implementation and software validation / Process Qualification for a cloud-based pharmaceutical device serialization system in compliance with DSCSA regulations.
September 2015 — December 2018
Manufacturing Lead
Surgical Technologies, Inc.
- Took over Medtronic production planning — turned around a chronically understocked operation to consistently maintaining contractually required minimum inventory across all 10 product lines representing the facility's highest unit and sales volume.
- Increased clean room production output from 900 to 1,300 units/day (44% improvement).
- Improved packaging line from 2,000 to 2,600 units/day while simultaneously reducing headcount from 11 to 7 and eliminating overtime.
- Led operations involvement in a new pharmaceutical assembly line: participated in line design, operator training, batch record validation, and end-user acceptance testing for a custom drug serialization tracking system.
- Promoted into an engineering role in recognition of technical and operational contributions.
September 2012 — June 2015
Production Supervisor
Guardian Industries
- Supervised a tempered glass production line with full accountability for safety, quality, production planning, equipment maintenance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Improved crew production from 3.8 to 5.0 TPPH. Took over a second underperforming crew and brought them to 5.0 TPPH within 6 months and 5.4 TPPH by May 2015.
- Led and participated in 5S and Lean improvement projects; rewrote all department work instructions and authored Job Hazard Assessments for each operator task.
February 2005 — July 2014
Armor Officer — First Lieutenant
Minnesota Army National Guard
- Enlisted 2005, commissioned as an officer 2009. Commanded a 40-soldier Convoy Escort Platoon deployed to Kuwait and Iraq (May 2011–2012); accountable for 12 armored vehicles, 12 heavy weapon systems, and over $7.5M in equipment.
- Platoon covered 90,049 miles and escorted 924 semi-trucks across 27 missions with zero safety incidents and zero vehicular accidents — in support of the largest logistical movement since World War II.
- Brought platoon from 70% to 100% deployable readiness in 3 months prior to deployment.
- Awarded Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service.
